If you are looking for a one of a kind player bass or want to surprise everyone when you pull out a log to play at your next gig, this may just be the perfect guitar for you! All electronics have been tested and are in working condition. With this one please examine photos very carefully to get a complete idea of all the modifications that have been done to this bass. The hardware does have some minor wear and blemishing, but still functions as it should. The neck itself does not appear to have been altered, and still plays great with only minor wear in the frets. There is plenty of finish drips and blemishes on the back, and it appears they have finished over part of the pickups (see photos). The finishing definitely leaves something to be desired as it is not a very clean job, but it definitely has some character! It seems they reshaped the body a bit, sanded off the finish, and then texturized the surface to give the look of an old log, or something like it (see photos).
Condition: Here is definitely something you don't see everyday! It is clear someone had a vision for a rustic, natural wood type bass and wow did they try and make something special out of this vintage Cort headless bass.Features: Steinberger tuner bridge system, custom body shape and finish.Pickup/Control Layout: 1 J bass pickup, 1 P bass pickup, 2 vol, 1 tone.With the combination of tone woods, even being a passive bass, can be warm or bright. This has to be one of the most balanced basses I have played in quite some time. One thing I noticed is that this bass, when played in a seated position, has no neck dive. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing this bass on live gigs and even just for practicing.

The Rithimic Series 4-String is a bass players dream, all the way from the first fret to the last not too heavy, not too light, and the neck feels just right. I guess it also might make chord playing easier. The BassTheWorld video review says that would make slapping harder, but the same review then shows someone happily slapping away on it. Some reviews noted this instrument has very close string spacing.

It’s nice to see a custom bass with a Babicz bridge, as they seem to proceed a more dynamic range, being full contact with the body, and also offering more sustain and stability. It's nice to hear that your Cort bass is still a wonderful thing after many months. All of the hardware is gold from the Hipshot Ultralight Tuners, right down the Babicz FCH4 Bridge. The pickups are Bartolini custom soapbars, which have been designed by no other than Jeff Berlin himself, and the electronics consist of volume, balance, and tone. The 34” scale neck is maple with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, complete with abalone inlays on the front and side of the fingerboard. The design and the way that the Spalted maple and Padouk top fit together seamlessly is a true work of art. The Cort Jeff Berlin Rithimic Series 4-String Bass features a double cutaway custom body with Alder as the main wood and a Spalted maple and Padouk top. I am truly honored to have the privilege to review a bass designed by such a master as Jeff Berlin and built by such a great company, Cort. The Cort Jeff Berlin Rithimic Series 4-String Bass is no exception and is a finely crafted instrument. Knowing what Jeff Berlin expects as a player, it shows in his signature line of basses from Cort. Agree with him or not, he is a fine and great bassist. Davits, Bill Buford, Allan Holdsworth, K.D. Aside from his many solo releases, he has recorded and/or performed with some of the greats such as Patti Austin, T. Jeff is one of the finest bassists of our time and gives some of the best clinics.
